The WhoCare Campaign roadmap has six steps being pursued concurrently. All funds raised will be used to create communications materials (e.g. compelling social care videos, voter call-to-action tools and social media adverts) designed to galvanise voters in England to contact their MPs and require immediate funding increases for the social care sector.
We are seeking those who are passionate about the need to preserve social care, including: concerned individuals, sector leaders, care staff, celebrities and influencers who can help spread the word about this campaign in social and traditional media.
A fund raising campaign on the CrowdFunder platform is generating funds to create compelling video stories by an award winning film-maker. The videos will be designed to inspire voters to contact their MP and call for reform of social care.
Short videos telling heartwarming care stories, as well as highlighting social care failures, will both inspire and stoke indignation and a strong desire to take action. An award winning documentary film maker is the creative force behind the videos.
Through social care advocates and influencers sharing the videos and Calls-to-Action, as well as focused advertising, a clear and compelling case for funding reform will target those most likely to take action to contact their MP.
Calls-to-Action will connect voters to technology tools designed to help them contact their MP to require funding reform of social care. Specific Calls-to-Action will be coordinated to coincide with social care related decisions in the policitcal cycle.
Collaboration with social care leaders, other campaigns (like #ProvidersUnite) and bodies representing the vulnerable will amplify our respective efforts and reach the widest possible group of voters. Together the sectors voice becomes stronger.
Funds raised will be used to create a suite of short videos designed for sharing via social media and aimed at those with a pent-up desire to take action by sharing the stories and contacting their MP, calling for better funding for social care. Stories will evoke emotion with heart wrenching care failures, counter-balanced by stories acting as beacons of hope.
Examples of outstanding care delivery by committed and capable care staff, often while overcoming adversity.
Personal stories of individuals let down by the care system and the consequences for them and their loved-ones.
Showcasing success from international best practice examples like Dementia care in the Netherlands.
Documentary style reporting on failures, like the shrinkage of social care provision in less affluent areas.
A fictional representation of what social care could look like if appropriately funded and supported.
A fictional representation of what social care will look like if it continues on it’s current funding path.
